FLOOR WORK with DRAGON STAFF – dance moves & creative tools

If you want to expand your flow and add another level to your dragon staff practice this workshop is for you!
We will get more comfortable while being on the ground by connecting some movement patterns with dragon staff tricks.

The knowledge I want to share with you is deeply rooted in contemporary dance concepts, that I have been exploring for 2 years. BUT you don’t have to have dancing experience to join the class!

ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME!

There are 2 parts of the workshop:

5.10 14:00-16:00 CONTEMPORARY MOVES part 1 & EXPLORATION
6.10 14:00-16:00 CONTEMPORARY MOVES part 2 & CREATIVE TOOLS

If you choose to take both classes you will get enough information to easily start incorporating floor level to your performing/flow and also you will receive guidance on how to create your own combinations and movement patterns.
A completely new universe of dragon staffing will open for you!

CONTEMPORARY MOVES part 1 & EXPLORATION:

We will dive into the world of spiral and circular motion that accompany the dragon staff so well. The part of technical skills will include diverse leg work, interesting ways of going down and up from the floor and tools for getting comfortable with combining specific dragonstaff tricks with specific led work.

During the exploration part I will share with you exercises that will help you get more creative and free with the ground level and also will help you understand that anything is possible there!

CONTEMPORARY MOVES part 2 & CREATIVE TOOLS

Second part of the workshop is focused on slides, spins and back rolls. We will go from the basic moves to some more complicated ones so that everyone can get something for themselves!
The other part of this class is devoted to combo and choreography creating tools, so that you will leave with your own sequence based on the creating patterns I will share with you.

FEW WORDS ABOUT ME:

I’m Hania – a nomadic fairy and my spinning journey started at a circus festival on a small island in Cambodia 8 years ago. Since then I have been constantly learning dragon and hoop while travelling the world, visiting other circus festivals, performing on stages of diverse music festivals and parties and doing street shows.

My life is as crazy and adventurous as my soul

Dancing has always been present in my practice and it is definitely an artistic body language that makes my spinning style unique. I believe there should be more and more and more dance in the flow community so my mission is to spread all the movement inspiration I have gathered during these years.

I am currently living in Buenos Aires, studying art therapy and experimental and contemporary dance which is definitely enriching my circus flow.

And I just love to teach! I have been doing it for the last 6 years, now mostly focusing on private on-line classes.
